piano lesson journal 3

Today I thought the reading went kind of slow, it's difficult to follow all the dialouge. I found it interesting how doaker seems kind of upset that all these family members are just coming into his house and eating his food and all that without ever paying him and I agree that that would be annoying. And also it's interesting how Wining Boy says he gave up playing piano and I wonder how music will be important later on in the story.

I agree with the fact about women. I thought it was interesting how they kept talking about how they'd been married but then those women were just gone?

  1. I have also been wondering the same thing about how music will fit in to the story. I also think that it was kind of weird the Doaker wanted to be paid, but now that I think about it, I guess he could've been joking.

  2. I agree about the difficulty to read the book and where some characters will have a solid block of dialogue that seems a bit more like an essay. I wonder if Winning Boy will have something to do with the "Piano lesson". Maybe he instructs Maretha?

  3. I was wondering that to if, maybe music will come up later in the book, and if winning boy will ever play piano again.
